Sudoku Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Sudoku stores, why the data is used, how it is protected, and how a player can ask for their app data to be deleted.

Who this policy is for

This policy applies to the Sudoku mobile app published by DMascot and to the online services used by the app. It covers app play, anonymous account setup, sign-in if enabled, sync, daily challenges, purchases if enabled, diagnostics, and support requests.

DMascot is responsible for deciding how Sudoku app data is handled. You can contact us at the support email shown on this page.

Data we store on your device

Sudoku is designed to work offline first. Some data stays on your phone or tablet unless you choose a feature that uses our online services.

Local data can include active puzzle progress, notes, settings, completed game history, statistics, cached daily puzzles, app configuration, and a cached app session. This local data helps the app resume games, work offline, and keep gameplay responsive.

Data we may store in our online services

When online features are enabled, we may store an app-scoped anonymous account or signed-in account record, an internal account identifier, installation identifier, app environment, app version, platform, device context such as operating system and model, app integrity result, daily challenge access, sync checkpoints, gameplay snapshots or completion events, and audit records for security and account activity.

If purchases are enabled, we may store purchase validation results, entitlement records, product identifiers, platform receipt or purchase-token references, restore-purchase status, and related audit events. Payment card details are handled by Apple, Google, or the relevant app store provider and are not stored by DMascot.

If you contact support, we store the information you send to us, such as your email address, message content, app version, device details you provide, and any screenshots or diagnostic details you choose to include.

What we use the data for

We use Sudoku data to run the app, restore sessions, provide daily puzzles, sync progress when enabled, protect online services from abuse, verify app integrity, validate purchases, provide premium entitlements, diagnose faults, answer support requests, and improve reliability.

We do not sell Sudoku player data. We do not use Sudoku gameplay data for third-party advertising.

How data is scoped and protected

Online records are scoped to the Sudoku app, the app environment, and the app account or installation identity. This is designed to prevent data from one app or environment being mixed with another.

Access to online systems is restricted to people and systems that need it to operate, support, secure, or improve the service. Private system keys are not shipped in the mobile app.

Retention

We keep app data only for as long as it is needed for gameplay, account operation, entitlement validation, security, audit, support, legal, or operational purposes.

When you delete your Sudoku account data, we remove or unlink app-owned online records that identify your Sudoku profile, devices, sessions, sync data, and app-owned gameplay data. Some security, audit, support, purchase, backup, or legal records may be retained for a limited period where needed to protect the service, prove account actions, comply with app-store or legal requirements, or resolve disputes.

How to delete your data

The preferred way to delete Sudoku online data is from inside the app, using the account or profile deletion option when it is available. This is the safest method because the app can send the current app session and device context, which helps us identify the correct Sudoku account without exposing another player's data.

If you cannot access the app, email apps@dmascot.co.uk and ask us to delete your Sudoku app data. We may ask for information needed to verify that the request relates to your account or installation, such as your app platform, approximate install date, account email if you signed in, or support identifiers shown in the app.

Deletion is limited to data DMascot controls. Uninstalling the app removes local app data from your device according to your operating system behavior, but it may not delete online data if you previously used sync, sign-in, daily challenge, purchase, or other online features. Apple, Google, and other app-store providers control their own purchase, billing, and account records.

Why deletion is handled in the app or by support email

Sudoku may use anonymous or pseudonymous app accounts. A website visitor is not automatically linked to a Sudoku installation, device, anonymous account, app-store purchase, or signed-in app session.

For that reason, we do not provide a public website button that deletes Sudoku data without verification. Deletion from the app proves control of the current app session. Deletion by support email lets us verify the request before taking action, reducing the risk that someone deletes the wrong account or another player's data.

Your choices and rights

You can play offline features without using some online services, although daily challenge, sync, account, purchase, restore, and support features may require an internet connection.

You can ask us for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection where applicable under data protection law. We will respond to privacy requests as required by applicable law and may need information to confirm the account or installation involved.

Children

Sudoku is not designed to knowingly collect sensitive personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app or support channel, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, online services, legal requirements, or support processes change. The latest version will be published on this website with an updated date.
